Our nervous system has evolved over millions of years to govern the relationship between our bodies systems and the larger world. The stress response is a natural part of that evolution, giving us energy to respond to challenging situations. When we’re balanced it naturally subsides. When we’re imbalanced, it can become chronic, adversely affecting our lives and causing many health issues (including anxiety) which are epidemic today. In many ways, stress defines the modern human condition.
Yoga sees anxiety as the call to change a life that is out of balance. While living with stress and anxiety may feel overwhelming, you are not powerless against it.
As holistic time-tested sciences, Yoga and Ayurveda provide means to care for our well-being, while understanding, transforming and healing the root causes of stress and anxiety. By cultivating self-awareness and giving us tools to shift our nervous system state, Yoga and Ayurveda empower us to care for our well-being and quality of life.
In this workshop, we will:
Work consciously with the autonomic nervous system
Explore common causes and symptoms of stress and anxiety
Learn holistic strategies for working skillfully with imbalance
Learn specific yoga postures, breathing practices, guided relaxation, and meditation techniques to release stress and anxiety and support well-being
Learn Ayurvedic dietary and lifestyle recommendations for supporting balance
This series is appropriate for all levels of yoga experience. Join us in-person at the studio for this workshop or online from anywhere!
FORMAT: This is a hybrid workshop taking place in-person at the studio and online via Zoom. Online pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
