Choosing the Right Class

One Yoga encourages a balanced approach to yoga, embracing a blend of styles and methods.

Our instructors work with students at every level of experience, providing modifications for asanas (poses), as needed, helping them learn to listen to and trust the wisdom of their own bodies, and encouraging home practice to deepen the health and wellness benefits of yoga.

From gentle, restorative and beginning to vigorous, challenging and athletic, our classes offer something for everyone. Check out class descriptions or click on a class title on the schedule page to find out what to expect so you can choose classes appropriate for your current level of health and fitness.

Classes often begin with meditation, relaxation, pranayama (breathwork) and/or chanting practices, followed by a flowing series of asanas (poses) that range from gentle movements to a challenging physical workout. Conscious breathing, which creates a steady, energized presence, is coordinated with the various practices. Classes end with time for rest and integration.

For students who are brand new to yoga or are looking for a little slower transition into the practices, we offer Basics classes twice a week, on Mondays and Saturdays. See our full Class Schedule here.

Yoga Etiquette

The practice of yoga is not only a gift of healing for yourself, but a way to develop community. Please be mindful of the impact your choices have on those around you. To create the best experience for yourself and others, please follow these guidelines:

Show up early...10-15 minutes before class will give you plenty of time to sign-in, change clothes, and relax.
Inform your instructor if you have any injuries or if you are pregnant.
Choose a class that's appropriate for your level of experience.
Socialize with others before or after, not during, class.
Turn off cell phones.
Be sure that both your body and your clothing are clean and odor-free. Wear non-restrictive clothing and bare feet.
Refrain from smoking before class, wearing perfumes, essential oils, colognes or other strong scents that may effect those with sensitivities or allergies.
Come with a relatively empty stomach...2-3 hours since your last big meal is ideal.
Many of our classes are vigorous and will cause you to sweat, so consider bringing a towel.
Avoid drinking water during class because water cools the inner heat that helps make the body flexible. Drink plenty of water after class.
Mats are available for use during class, however, bringing your own mat is encouraged for hygienic and energetic reasons. If you use one of our mats, please be sure to clean it.
Help us keep props tidy by returning them to their proper place.
Don't skip savasana! It is an important relaxation part of your practice. If you absolutely must leave early, inform your instructor in advance and pack up and exit respectfully and quietly.
