“Baron spoke to me by showing me that I have the power and voice within me to choose whatever it is I want in my life. I am committed to teaching at One Yoga to help others realize they don’t need to search outside themselves but just to listen to that inner voice within
themselves, creating from that a freedom for possibility.”

Amanda has always used movement through her body as a way to feel connected to her authentic self. Not realizing hula-hooping for hours on end as a child, dancing for thirteen years, cycling for hundreds of miles, running a marathon and finishing three sprint distance triathlons had been amazing tools for teaching meditation in motion. She naturally went into a yoga class thinking of it as a way to get her body into better shape and get those sculpted arms. What a shock that in savasana she felt an internal shift that would change her life but didn’t quite understand how. Then the journey of inner exercise began.

Amanda received her 200-hour certification in ashtanga yoga during which time she found the style that spoke to her, Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga. Since that time she has studied with Baron
Baptiste attending a Bootcamp, Assistant Training, and Levels 1 and 2 of Teacher Training. Amanda will continue learning and training with Baron and hopes to one day be a certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Teacher. Amanda has also studied with Paul Grilley and loves balancing the introspective practice of Yin yoga with the power of Yang yoga.

The practice of yoga allows us to tap into our truest rhythm by connecting breath, awareness and movement. By calming the mind we awaken to the present and create space for fresh insights to emerge.

Angela encourages students to bring curiosity and creativity to their yoga practice. Through playful sequencing and music she creates a welcoming and supportive environment for people to explore their edges.

Angela is grateful to the many teachers that she has encountered on her yoga and life journey. Some include William Prottengeier, Larry Schultz, Doug Swenson, Desiree Rumbaugh, Mark Nunberg, Jessica Rosenberg and Sarah Longacre.

Ben Vincent

Ben Vincent

“My commitment to the work of One Yoga comes from a knowing that all beings can realize our true nature. Over thousands of years yoga has been passed from teacher to student. This living tradition has brought profound happiness , compassion and insight to life--which we work to make accessible to all.”

Ben’s search for truth began long before being exposed to yoga, but coming to the practice of yoga felt like coming home. His studies have included various traditions of yoga, meditation, music, conflict resolution and sustainable farming. He continues to study with Richard Freeman in the Ashtanga Vinyasa, tradition and William Prottengeier in the Iyengar tradition, and has also studied maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Through these relationships, he has learned that the art of teaching is to inspire a love of the practice, for great teachers are always students.

Ben’s teaching is a reflection of his personal practice – integrating the breath & energetic awareness of Ashtanga Vinyasa, the bodily alignment Iyengar yoga, and the mindfulness and subtle awareness of meditation - to realize health of body, peace of mind, well-being. Self-exploration through yoga, meditation and music as living arts, has deepened the experience of what it is to be human and divine. He seeks to embody these realities through the simple truths of love, compassion, and non-attachment.

To share the wisdom of yoga as a teacher, is both a blessing and great responsibility, as there is no greater service than the work of love. Namaste.

Ben has led retreats nationally and internationally.

Bianca Matter

“I appreciate the great work that can be done by community outreach programs so that everyone can benefit from Yoga.”

Bianca's first steps on the path of yoga began at the age of 16 when she decided to become a vegetarian and start a stretching program. For a long time that was all it was, a physical approach to feel good and do something for animals. At 23, she found her way to a Hatha Yoga class. Since then, the path of Yoga has continued to unfold. During her two year training to become a yoga teacher in the Sivananda Yoga tradition, Bianca realized the deeper levels of yoga. The yogic concept of ahimsa or "love embracing all creation" became a prominent part of her yoga practice as well as daily life. As a teacher, Bianca loves to watch not only the physical progress of students, but the subtle changes of the mind/soul/body connection, sparking a deep interest in savoring the simple life.

Bianca is grateful for the many great teachers that have shared their love and wisdom on her journey to conscious awakening: her dad, her three cats, Swami Vishnu-Devananda, and her husband Riley for believing in her. She is also grateful for the insight, inspiration and knowledge gained from studies with William Prottengeier as well as workshops with David Swenson and Natasha Rizopoulus.

Lynn Thomasberg

"I am honored to be teaching at One Yoga and believe the students are excited that we are a not for profit studio extending our hand to community by offering affordable yoga and outreach. They are also grateful for the many teaching styles offered. Students here are
curious, open minded and full of energy!"

Lynn has been a devoted student of yoga since 1996. Her introduction to Ashtanga yoga began nearly a decade ago in a small Mysore style class taught by local yogini Monique Maxwell. Enthusiasm for this practice has been fueled by her studies, home practice and the benefits that she has witnessed both in her life and her students lives. This scientifically and balanced practice is the basis of her creatively sequenced Vinyasa style classes. Her knowledge, compassion and experience and with beginners to advanced practitioners make her classes accessible to everyone with the desire to learn.

Lynn continues to study with many senior teachers of all yoga traditions including Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Mathew Sweeney, Tim Miller, Angela Farmer, Tias Little, Maty Ezraty and Chuck Miller. She has also received teacher training from David Swenson and Manju Pattabhi Jois.

Margie Weaver

Margie Weaver

“One Yoga has been my yoga home since the studio opened in 2002. Becoming the organization’s Managing Director in 2006, deepened my connection to the students and teachers whose hearts and spirits fill the studio’s beautiful space. I am committed to bringing whatever gifts and abilities I possess to support One Yoga’s mission and its future of service in the community.”

After more than two decades of professional acting and university teaching experience, Margie took her first yoga class and wondered why all actors weren't learning this practice that so immediately deepened spiritual presence, concentration, self-discipline as well as strength, flexibility, stamina, kinesthetic awareness, breath support and stress management. She is now a certified Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga instructor teaching full-time at One Yoga and part-time with the Freshman Company each year in the University of Minnesota / Guthrie Theater BFA Actor Training Program. Her extensive background in voice and movement for actors adds a unique dimension to her knowledge and teaching style. Easy-going, caring, playful, and patient, she supports students on the journey of self-discovery and transformation by guiding them in the development of a personal home practice that will positively impact their quality of life.

She has explored approaches to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Manju Jois, David Williams, David Swenson, Danny Paradise, Larry Schultz, Matthew Sweeney, Lisa Belfiori, Kate Thorsen, and Julie Lerner-Schmidt.

Margie also plays harmonium and sings with Shakti Chant Band, co-leading yoga chanting events at several local studios, and annual yoga retreats in Mexico.

There is a strong sense of community here that makes our little yoga studio a very special place indeed.”
